Urticaria or hives
Urticaria or hives is also a skin allergy that can occur at any age. It lasts for few minutes to few hours. This skin allergy is very itchy and often causes swelling in the affected part of the body. The swelling that takes place along with hives is called angiodema.
Contact dermatitis
In case of contact dermatitis your skin reacts when it comes across any material or substance that causes allergies to it. Depending on the skin type such materials can be of various kinds. You can get contact dermatitis due to skin contact with metal, chemical. You can get this skin allergy from cosmetics, hair dyes, zippers and even plants. This kind of skin allergy can be very itchy.
The researchers have found that there are certain itching problems on skin without any rash. This can be caused due to an internal problem or there can be some other problems in that area of skin. Such problems are known as pruritus.
