Allergies: A large number of people from all around the world suffer from various types of allergies. From food allergies to insect allergies, there are a number of factors responsible for causing allergies. Bumble Bee allergies are caused by the sting of a bumble bee. Bumble Bee allergies are common in areas where people live in proximity to bumble bee, or honeybees and wasps. However, it has been found that only bumblebee queens and workers possess stings. The males cannot sting and are deemed harmless. Bumble bees use sting as a kind of self defense. When a human being is stung by a bumblebee, some venom enters the body resulting into severe pain that gradually fades away. A few people report of allergic reactions after being stung by a bumblebee.
Bumble Bee Allergies: Unlike honeybees, bumblebees have no barbs, and for that reason they are able to withdraw the sting and can use it again and again. Bumble Bee Allergies occur only after repeated stings and not by a single sting. The allergic reaction caused by bumblebee stings are also known as systemic, general or anaphylactic reaction. Bumble Bee allergies usually occur after the second or third sting. Allergies do not occur after the very first sting because of the absence of antibodies. The reaction of the allergies is usually noticeable within fifteen minutes, after receiving a sting.
Classification: Bumble Bee allergies are usually classified under four categories, namely, Grade 1, Grade 2, Grade 3 and Grade 4. In Grade 1, reactions like redness, swelling and itchiness, occur on the skin, in different parts of the body. In Grade 4, all the symptoms of Grade 1, 2 & 3 are found, along with anaphylactic shock and heart palpitations.
