Generally people above the age of 60 years get affected by this skin disease and a major percentage of the victims are women. Nummular Dermatitis is a chronic and recurrent disease but no genetic factor is related to it.

However it has to be mentioned that there are various treatments for Nummular Dermatitis. Use of lotions, creams and bath oils can help largely in preventing the disease. Besides, topical corticosteroids and oral antihistamines are effective ways for treating Nummular Dermatitis.
